A Fresh Face: The Facelift Ahead of the 25th Anniversary

Back in 2024 we threw up a small temporary about page on WordPress — a place to start introducing the new brand and talk publicly about the long rebuild that would eventually become DN 2.0. It was held together with chewing gum and a Yoast plugin. Fast to ship, exactly what we needed at the time, and always meant to be a placeholder. It served us well — through the public beta in July 2025, through the main launch last October, and through every "Hey, what’s this DN 2.0 thing?" mailer in between.

But DudesNude turns 25 next year — basically a senior citizen in internet years — and the public face of the site was starting to show its age in ways that "the chewing gum is still holding" couldn’t really cover anymore. So we gave it a facelift.

Welcome to the brand-new dudesnude.com — the part of DN that talks to the world about who we are. The part where you enjoy your online time, log in, chat, post in forums and cam — that all didn’t change again. We just spruced up the storefront, not the apartment.

The new dudesnude.com storefront — clean header, ‘For Dudes who Like Dudes’ hero, three pillar cards, fresh blog strip The old about.dudesnude.com WordPress page — long single column, dense text, mixed typography

Why we needed a fresh face

The interim site did its job. But it never really told the full story — what makes us different from every other site in this space, why our privacy stance actually matters, what 24 years of community even looks like. It also looked, frankly, like it was built in 2009. Which, to be fair, the WordPress theme more or less was.

The new dudesnude.com is built on the same modern foundations as the rest of DN 2.0 — fast, secure, privacy-first by design, and made to grow with us. No WordPress, no plugin sprawl, no ad tracking, no third-party analytics quietly profiling everyone who walks through. Just our story, told properly, in a way that doesn’t make you squint.

What you’ll find here

  • A clearer page on what makes us a verified community — including why every new profile gets a real human review before it goes live (we wrote about that whole approach back in September).
  • Our straight-talk page on privacy: no ads, no data sales, no cross-site tracking. Servers in Europe, company in Switzerland, GDPR all the way down. The kind of privacy promise that doesn’t need 14 dark patterns and a 9,000-word policy to defend itself.
  • A page on what real connection actually looks like — photos, profiles, the cam room, chat, forums, all in one place, none of it driven by an algorithm telling you who to look at next.
  • And this blog — which we’re finally committing to keep updated. (More on that in a second, since the bar is, frankly, low.)

The blog is back. For real this time.

When we first announced the rebuild, one of the things Eric and I wanted most was to talk to you regularly — not just when something breaks or a payment processor sends us a scary letter at 11pm on a Tuesday. The interim about page launched in late 2024 and over the year-and-a-half since, we managed about a post every other month, because the priority was always the main app, the cam room, and keeping the lights on through a regulatory storm.

That’s changing. Going forward, this blog is going to be where we share:

  • Regular updates — what we’re working on, what just shipped, what’s broken and how we’re fixing it.
  • Behind-the-scenes on the choices we’re making — privacy, verification, and the parts of running an independent adult site that nobody else really talks about (because they’re trying to seem mysterious, and we’re really not).
  • Community spotlights — the dudes who make DN what it is.
  • The boring-but-important stuff — pricing changes, policy updates, payment-processor news. The things you’d want to know if you’re a supporter and would rather not find out by accident.

Expect at least one post a month, more when there’s real news. Hold us to it.

What happens to the old about page?

The interim about.dudesnude.com is being retired this week. Don’t worry about old links — every link from the previous site, our mailers, forum threads, and Discourse posts still works. We set up redirects so nothing breaks. The old WordPress server gets to enjoy a well-deserved retirement, somewhere warm.

For everything else — your profile, the cam room, messages, photos — those all stay exactly where they were, at the main app and the forums. This site is the part of DN that isn’t behind your login — and that includes everything we’re going to write here.

24 down, 1 to go. Same community, same crew, fresh paint out front. 💙
