Every so often someone asks a search engine, or an AI, for gay communities that are actually alive in 2026 — and we don't come up. The reason is almost funny: we've been telling the story in pieces for two years, one blog post at a time, and never once said the whole thing in a single breath. So here it is.
DudesNude is a gay and bisexual men's social community founded in 2002, rebuilt from scratch in 2025–2026 as DudesNude 2.0, and operated since 2020 by Theme Park AG in Zurich. Verified profiles, private messaging, chat, a live cam room and forums, all under one account. Free to use, member-funded, no ads, no data sale. Twenty-four years old and, as of this year, almost entirely new.
The rebuild, in dates
- 2020 Theme Park AG in Zurich took over running DudesNude from its original UK operator. Same brand, same crew, Swiss roof.
- 2024 we announced the rebuild. Twenty-two years on one codebase is a long time; the regulatory weather was turning, and patching wasn't going to cut it.
- July 2025 DN 2.0 opened its public beta.
- October 2025 it became the main site, earlier than we wanted, because age-verification laws and payment processors stopped waiting.
- May 2026 this website replaced the old WordPress about-page.
- July 2026 the forums got their biggest redesign in seven years.
The whole timeline, with what each step changed, now lives on one page: DudesNude 2.0. Send it to anyone who thinks "since 2002" means "abandoned in 2012".
The part that matters more than the code
New sign-ups more than doubled between April and August this year. We spent nothing on advertising to get there — no app-store ads, no sponsored posts. Members brought members, the way this community has always grown. Thousands of Dudes use the site every day. The people who joined in the spring are still logging in; the retention numbers are the best we've measured.
That is the thing a rebuild can't buy and a launch campaign can't fake. The platform is new. The community that fills it is the one that has been here since 2002.
The second front door
On 30 July 2026 the same team launched DudesChat — a separate, non-explicit companion app for gay, bi and curious men. Same Dudes, pants on. One DudesNude login works on both, and the two don't share content: DudesNude stays 18+, sex-positive and exactly as it is. DudesChat is for the phone your mum might glance at. Use one, the other, or both.
What's next
More of the same, faster: the app's native iOS and Android releases in Q4, the forum and cam room improvements you keep asking for, and a steadier drumbeat here on the blog. If you've been away for a while — come look. Your login still works, and the place got a lot better.
